We all realise how difficult it can be to break those unhealthy old habits and switch to a healthier option. An ideal solution to help ease us into a healthierdiet plan is to employ a daily regime that we will follow from now on.
Here Are 5 Examples Of A Regime We Could Follow:
1) Regulate the time of day that we eat.
It is much better to regulate the time of day that we eat rather than eating at irregular intervals. We should attempt to eat our meals and snacks at the same time every day. By doing this our body will become accustomed to eating at these set times and we will be less likely to be hit by cravings during the day. Eating at regular intervals also keeps our blood sugar levels more balanced and stable, which prevents us being liable to more cravings.
2) Try to eat in the same place daily.
If possible, we should try eating our meals in the same place, perhaps the same seat at the dining table. By sitting at the same place daily, our body will be aware that it is time to eat. Eventually we will ditch the habits of eating whilst sitting on the sofa watching television or standing in the kitchen. Once we have programmed our mentality into eating at specific times and in certain places we will not be inclined to overeat on impulse.
3) Try exercising at the same time daily.
Following the same rules regarding our exercise programme will also be beneficial. If we do our exercise workout at the same time daily, we will programme our mind and body to accept it, not fight it. It is so easy to set time aside for this daily routine within our scheduled plans for the day. We will find it much better to set our exercise time and get it done and over with for the day.
4) Prepare and cook meals and snacks at the same time daily.
Many of us do not set time aside for food preparation and cooking, leading us to sometimes eat unhealthy foods because we are hungry and in a hurry. If we can get into the habit of preparing and cooking healthy wholesome meals and snacks at the same time daily, eventually it will become second nature. We will be much more inclined to stick to a healthy eating plan once we have established this routine.
5) Consume water regularly.
Some of us may have difficulty in drinking sufficient water. Therefore perhaps we would also find it helpful to create a regime that will help regulate our water consumption. If we could get into the habit of drinking a glass of water before our meal or snack, before retiring for the evening or following each cup of tea or coffee we drink throughout the day. If we can manage to drink more water that is a bonus.
The main purpose of establishing a regular eating and exercise regime is to programme our body and mind to expect and accept this timetable on a daily basis. Once we have these new regimes in place, we will have the basis for creating a healthier eating and exercise plan that will enhance our health and wellbeing for ever.
